CTP and CTP Advanced Materials GmbH have merged to become one company

CTP and CTP Advanced Materials GmbH have merged to become the new CTP Advanced Materials GmbH, a subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group Rüsselsheim, August 2019 / The Retroactive merger of the CTP Chemicals and Technologies for Polymers GmbH and the CTP Advanced Materials GmbH took place on April 1, 2019. In the course of this, the company name was standardized. The merged company now operates under the new and old name CTP Advanced Materials GmbH.  We are pleased to announce that the previous managing director of the two companies, Dr. Thomas Dahlems, took on the management of the new CTP Advanced Materials GmbH. Another step to strengthen our company as part of the Aditya Birla Group.

Change of management

We are pleased to announce that as of April 17, 2019, Dr. Thomas Dahlems (55) has been appointed the new managing director of the CTP Chemicals and Technologies GmbH in Rüsselsheim. Dr. Dahlems is replacing Dr. Geisler (58), who left the company as its long-time employee and managing director at his own request. Dr. Dahlems began his career in chemicals distribution in 1997 as head of the quality laboratory and technical expert for complex customer inquiries. This was followed by positions at Resolution, later Hexion and Momentive, as business manager for epoxy applications in the field of electro casting and composites. In 2013, Dr. Dahlems started working for Aditya Birla Chemicals Europe and in 2016 he became the managing director of the CTP Advanced Materials GmbH, our sister company. The strategic goal is to further integrate the CTP GmbH into the global epoxy resin activities of Aditya Birla Chemicals as the European mainstay and to significantly expand the business by strengthening the CeTePox® brand name as well as the Rüsselsheim location.

A new employee in research & development

We look forward to welcoming Dr. Julian Schäfer as a new research & development employee at the CTP Chemicals and Technologies for Polymers GmbH, a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Chemicals, who will start on February 1, 2018.  Dr. Schäfer studied chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the Julius Maximilian University (JMU) of Würzburg. After completing his diploma thesis at the Institute of Physical Organic Chemistry (POC) in the working group of Prof. Lambert, he remained committed to his research area and started working on his doctorate in the same position.  In November 2017, he completed his doctorate and decided to focus on electron transfer processes in organic compounds. He is now as member of our R&D team and supporting it in the area of new synthesis projects.

A new sales and marketing assistant at CTP

Since November 15, 2017, Corinna Weber has been acting as the new assistant in sales and marketing, taking over the position of Pia Draxel. In her professional career, Ms. Weber gained a wide range of experience in the area of business assistance and sales, including for the Rittal GmbH in Herborn, where she worked in international service.  Her successful graduation as an economist in 2015 rounds off her profile. She actively supports the Aditya Birla / CTP sales team and acts as an interface between the manager and the upstream management.  With Corinna Weber, we were able to gain an experienced successor for this position who is the perfect fit for our company philosophy with her open nature and her

CTP GmbH strengthens the Sales Force 

Starting 1st February 2017, we have a new Area Sales Manager on board. Rafael Pliszek is responsible for Eastern Europe including Russia and Turkey. He began the career with an apprenticeship in Industrial Business Management at Evonik Industries AG, Essen, besides he has succeeded a B.A. degree in International Management. For additional seven years he continued at Evonik Industries in various sales and marketing functions for PU, plastic additives and construction chemicals sales divisions.  Recently, he worked at TIB Chemicals AG, Mannheim, as Sales & Marketing Manager for EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, he was responsible for special metal catalysts and process additives.  Fabio Darbe has a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Turin and started his career as R&D technician for epoxy systems at PO.INT.ER. in Italy.  He had direct responsibility in formulating epoxy hardener and resins for CE application and protective coatings.  After a short period at ddchem as responsible for marble and stones epoxy system, he joined Air Products as Sales Manager for Epoxy Additives Italy/Iberia and Greece.  He was responsible for sales and business development in South Europe managing direct customers and distributors.  Due to the broad experience of Mr Pliszek and Mr Darbe, we are convinced that they will successfully expand the various application field in their regions and markets as well as set new impulse.

New colleague supports the department of Environment, Health and Safety 

Since September 2016 our new colleague Kristyn Multer supports the department of Environment, Health and Safety at CTP Chemicals and Technologies for Polymers GmbH. She has finished her studies in Environmental Toxicology at the RWTH Aachen University, which includes the final master thesis in Australia. Prior to starting her career at CTP, she gained experience in product safety as an intern at a consultancy.

New challenge as Business Development Manager 

We at CTP Chemicals and Technologies for Polymers GmbH, part of Aditya Birla Chemical, are excited to announce that Mr. Peter Gabb has joined as our Business Development Manager for our European business including Turkey and Russia.  We are happy to have Peter in our team. After working in lab at Weilburger Lackfabrik, he moved into the sales activities. Later he joined Weiss Chemie and subsequently worked for TEGO additives, part of Evonik, promoting additives.  Peter brings with his dedication, knowledge and dynamism, which he has earned from his part experiences.  We are proud to announce his new role and wish him all the best.

Daniel Maisack joined CTP GmbH as new R&D Coordinator 

We are pleased to announce that Dipl. Ing. (FH) Daniel Maisack (39) joined CTP Chemicals and Technologies for Polymers GmbH, part of Aditya Birla Chemicals, as R&D Coordinator on 01.05.2016.  In this role, Mr. Maisack will be in charge of coordinating the R&D activities and he will also provide advice on technical issues both to customers and to the company´s sales team.  After an apprenticeship as laboratory assistant, Mr. Maisack received his Chemicals Engineering degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Emden. He then joined CTP GmbH as a laboratory engineer in the advanced materials section and was responsible for developing composite applications for CTP-AM. Later on he worked as Laboratory Head at KCH in Siershahn where he developed binders for heavy duty acid and corrosion protection.  In his most recent position as Laboratory Head at AB-Polymerchemie GmbH in Aurich, Mr. Maisack was in charge of the industrial flooring coating materials product division and the development of corresponding EP and PU systems as well as advising customers.

CTP GmbH appoints new Managing Director 

We are pleased to announce, Dr. Joerg-Peter Geisler (55) has been appointed as Managing Director of CTP Chemicals and Technologies for Polymers GmbH in Rüsselsheim, effective January 1st, 2016. Dr. Geisler will succeed Dr. Erhard Jacobi (65), founder and Managing Director of CTP GmbH, who will retire from the company by the end of 2015. However, Dr. Jacobi will continue to assist the company in an advisory role.   Dr. Geisler started his career with Hoechst AG in R&D and joined CTP GmbH in 1996 as head of R&D. He became technical director in 2000 and was further assigned to head all technical operations in addition to R&D. He has been an integral part of the CTP leadership team and contributed significantly to the growth of the business by developing new products, providing technical support to customers while also establishing strong systems and processes to manage operations. This announcement reflects als the continuity of the well-known strengths of CTP GmbH in engaging for customers through technical support as well as reliable products and services. The appointment of Dr. Geisler will lead to a further integration of the company as the European mainstay into Aditya Birla Chemicals global epoxy business and will grow the business to the next level, while strengthening the CeTePox®-brand and the company´s site at Rüsselsheim.   We also take the opportunity to thank Dr. Jacobi for building this company and creating CeTePox® as strong brand representing quality and reliability to our customers.

Achim H. Klippstein will start as new Global Business Developing Manager 

Mr. Achim H. Klippstein will start at October 1st, 2015 at CTP Chemicals and Technologies for Polymers GmbH, part of Aditya Birla Chemicals.  As Global Business Developing Manager, he will be responsible for strengthening the global Epoxy Business. Additionally he will focus on the business of environmental and application friendly water based epoxy resins and curing agents.  Achim H. Klippstein has many years of experience and is one of the world’s leading experts in epoxy systems. Prior to joining CTP Mr. Klippstein worked with Akzonoble and Air Products in various roles and contributed to development of various technologies and solutions for industry.

Training of Aditya Birla Chemicals Epoxy Division staffers at CTP Germany 

In March, members of the application and development lab of Aditya Birla Chemical´s epoxy division were trained at CTP´s R&D lab at Rüsselsheim.  Five days of working together with our guests from the Rayong, Thailand site were filled with presentations, lab trials and fruitful discussions on the CeTePox® portfolio of hardeners and epoxy resin blends as well as analytical tools and R&D-processes. The workshop-like atmosphere enabled the successful exchange of information and ideas. CTP – once again achieves success on the Middle East Coating Show 2014 

For the third time CTP joined the booth of our distributor in the United Arab Emirates, Haris Al-Afaq, on occasion of the Middle East Coatings Show 2014 held in Dubai.  For the Thomas Jacob (sales) and Peter Geisler (R&D) this again was a unique opportunity to present our portfolio of modern and innovative CeTePox® hardeners and resin blends to interested customers from the region and certainly to support our distributor´s clients to solve technical and commercial discussions made this event a success for CTP.  As the economic situation in the Middle East is improving we are sure to pick up more business in this regional “hot-spot” on the CTP sales map.

CTP participated at the Paint India Show 2014 which was held at Bombay Exhibition Center, Mumbai from 6-8 March 2014 

For the first time CTP took part in the PAINTINDIA exhibition held at Mumbai, India. Peter Geisler, technical director and head of research and development of CTP stayed at the booth of Aditya Birla Chemicals (Thailand) Epoxy Division (ABCT) where the product portfolios of Epotec and CeTePox® were successfully presented to numerous visitors.  Three days of intensive talks with potential customers left the impression that India not only is a boldly developing market offering big potentials. Moreover, there is a great demand in more sophisticated epoxy-based solutions for various technical problems. Solutions which can be offered from our broad range of modern, innovative CeTePox®-hardeners and resin blends.  Thanks also to the support from the ABCT-staff, we are sure to create first sales of CeTePox® products in the near future.  See you again at PAINTINDIA 2016!

CTP – achieves success on the Middle East Coating Show 2012 

A complete success was the joint trade-show presentation of CTP and our sales partner, Haris Al Afaq, on the Middle East Coating Show 2012 in Dubai.  Existing contacts were cultivated and interesting new one socialised. This exhibition had shown once more that CTP is an international accepted and highly valued partner of the coating and civil engineering industry. Local and international acting companies appreciated the direct dialog with our experts on location.  A during the trade-show offered “Technical Workshop” with the headline “Innovative Hardener Systems” generated a consistently positive response.

CTP presents low emission product range 

Using this CeTePox® product range, it is possible to achieve low emissions in the entire coating structure. Difficult or damp substrates, rear surface moisture or the need for a flexible intermediate layer no longer represent an obstacle.  Tested for safety!  For individual systems test reports are existing, e.g. for use with rear surface moisture or acc. To DIN EN 13419.

Winner of the iPads 

The during the ECS 2011 drawn win codes  – 3444  – 3556  – 3571  gets excited each about an iPad. The handover will be happened during the next weeks by Klaus Reinhold, Manager Marketing and New Business Development of CTP GmbH.  Mr. Rolf Blumer from Saint-Gobain Weber was the first who received his iPad.  We wish all winners a lot of fun with it.

R & D

With improved epoxy-functional emulsifiers, we can create water-emulsifiable epoxy resins with an optimized performance profile. These resins are easily emulsifiable, produce storage-stable, fine-particle emulsions and, after curing, are more resistant to chemicals than other products on the market without functionalized emulsifiers.

As a result of this, prices of raw materials are beginning to rise and supply of certain key products is extremely tight. Unfortunately this means that we will need to increase the prices of our products, and in particular our CeTePox® hardeners which are worst affected by raw material price increases.  You will be contacted by your local representative to discuss the best way to manage the current availability problems and the price increases which are necessary.

CTP is DIN EN 9001: 2008 recertified

The CTP easily received the recertification according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 from TÜV Rheinland until January 31, 2013.

Customs awards AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) status to the CTP GmbH

On July 16, 2010, the CTP GmbH received the status of an authorized economic operator from the main customs office in Darmstadt. This allows us to speed up customs processing and thereby shorten the delivery time for our export customers.

R & D

If the recipes are optimized for it, benzyl alcohol can be completely replaced in solvent-free epoxy hardeners. This means, there are benzyl alcohol-free options for many applications with a characteristics profile similar to those of standard products.
